Senior Project Manager

Location: Chesterfield, United Kingdom
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000
Holidays: 25 days + 8 bank holidays

Remote working & half day on Fridays

The company:

Our client is an EPC business specialising in the design and manufacturing of products used within the aluminium processing industry. They design a range of catalogue products and machines as well as offering a turnkey solution for large factory installations, these products are often used within the recycling and manufacturing industries.

They currently employ 90 members of staff within the UK and have experienced a turnover of over £30 million in the last year and have been established for more than 40 years in the UK.

As a business, they are experiencing growth and a consistent large volume of incoming projects globally across Europe, Canada, and the Middle East, with upcoming projects ranging from £8-10 Million in value. As such, they are looking to expand their design team to allow them to run additional projects simultaneously and take on additional workload to help push the business forward.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a background in heavy-duty engineering or machinery.

You will be joining a team of 4 Project Managers and will be responsible for overseeing project delivery throughout Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls specialities who you will be working alongside day to day on new projects, managing the delivery of these projects from start to finish.

You will be responsible for managing up to 10 projects simultaneously, with an average project value of around £300,000 - £600,000, and a typical project length of up to 9 months.

To perform your activities, you will employ the use of systems and tools such as MS Projects and Sage 200.

Your Responsibilities will include:

  1. Plan, execute, and oversee projects from inception to completion.
  2. Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for project execution.
  3. Develop detailed project plans and ensure resource allocation.
  4. Track and monitor project progress, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  5. Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs.
  6. Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  7. Establish and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  8. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  9. Ensure clear and transparent communication across departments.

Qualifications & Experience:
  1. Degree in Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Previous experience in project management, preferably in the heavy machinery industry.
  3. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies.
  4. Proficiency in project management software (e.g. MS Project).
  5. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Experience in the design, manufacturing, and assembly of machinery.
  7. Ability to travel internationally when required.
