We have an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified/experienced Senior Project Manager (R&D manager) to join as a core member of the team at Concrete4Change.

Job Title: Senior Project Manager (R&D manager)

Location: Nottingham, office based

Remuneration: Competitive Salary

Start date and end date (approx): This is a permanent position and is available for immediate start. (Flexible on start date based on notice period)

Job description:

As the R&D Project manager, you have an entrepreneurial mindset to oversee and manage the efficiency of our R&D team and activities. You will be responsible for managing £5m R&D activities and resources including:

  • day-to-day activity management
  • R&D team management (15 researchers)
  • laboratory management
  • equipment and grants management

Essential:

  • Minimum M.Sc degree in chemistry
  • 3 years of project management and financial management experience of R&D projects in the region of +£1,000,000 p.a.
  • Expertise in managing and reporting upon budgetary controls associated with R&D projects.
  • Experience in working for startups or SMEs
  • Familiarity and expertise in project management tools and methodologies (Agile, PRINCE2, etc)
  • Self-starter, able to design, implement and own project management systems.

Desirable:

  • PhD degree in construction or chemistry
  • Experience with UKRI, DESNZ, EIC projects or equivalent grants
  • Previous exposure to complex R&D projects, and or deep-tech start-ups
  • Project management experience in relevant industry sectors – carbon capture/utilisation/storage, materials science, materials chemistry
  • A wide range of contacts in the industry and/or academia with backgrounds in carbon capture/utilisation/storage, materials science, materials chemistry
