We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager to deliver the AMP8 programme and support the Senior Programme Manager within the Hafren Dyfrdwy Capital Delivery Team.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

As Senior Project Manager in HD, you’ll support the Senior Programme Manager with a strategic viewpoint to deliver our capital programmes across both water and waste sub-services, including timely delivery of our regulatory commitments to OFWAT. With this, you’ll need excellent commercial and strategic experience and knowledge to help drive the HD programme through to completion in AMP8.

This role will help support and nurture the HD team, supporting the Senior Programme Manager to lead the team on their day-to-day activities, as well as aiding to develop individuals within the team. Key to this is having a strong sense of leadership and ownership, along with personal development into a leadership role.

You will be responsible for projects from feasibility/evaluation through to construction and handover, working with both internal and external stakeholders to gain their buy-in and ensure smooth delivery of key outputs. You will ensure external consultants develop innovative technical designs that represent the best value TOTEX solution that achieves the business needs. Following from this, you’ll be responsible for developing the commercial strategy ensuring the best time, cost and quality delivery route. Upon completion, timely benefits realisation and capitalisation of these contracts is key.

You’ll be competent in managing the six aspects of a project, i.e. scope, schedule, finance, risk, quality and resource. You’ll drive the project plans, safeguard milestone delivery and ensure reporting of progress through to the Senior Programme Manager and HD Executive Committee.

You will be skilled in your knowledge of the Construction, Design and Management Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) and have a keen knowledge of the Client, Principal Contractor and Principal Designer duties.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

Qualified and experienced in a relevant engineering discipline and ideally be working towards a professional qualification (civil, mechanical, process or electrical). You will have experience in design and/or project delivery working to industry standards and codes of practice.

Experience across various stages of the project lifecycle, from feasibility through to construction.

Knowledge or experience in clean water and/or wastewater treatment is highly desirable, but we welcome candidates eager to learn and grow in this field.

You’ll come equipped with confident communication, team membership, leadership and stakeholder management skills, with a proactive and flexible approach to working, and have excellent planning and organising skills.

It’s essential you’re able to travel independently but you’ll be based at Wrexham.
