Role Purpose

We are looking for a highly motivated and diligent experienced Senior Project Manager who will work closely with the business and as part of the Central Project team, acting as a major contributor to the delivery of the Howden UK&I change / integration programmes.

Reporting to the Head of Project Management, the opportunity is offered on a Fixed Term Contract basis, working remotely with occasional travel to our offices across the UK/London.

Key Accountabilities

1. Ensure the project scope and deliverables are consistent with the needs of the business and meet the strategic priorities.
2. Direct and empower the project team.
3. Provide Programme updates & Management Reporting.
4. Chair Steering Committees & Programme update meetings.
5. Ensure timescales and costs are managed throughout the lifecycle of the project.
6. Coordinate internal resources and vendors for the execution of projects.
7. Produce and maintain the Project Initiation Document.
8. Manage business and project issues and risks, including the development of contingency plans.
9. Take ownership for the overall project delivery, tracking progress and use of resources, initiating corrective action where necessary.
10. Be responsible for any change control throughout the project.
11. Report to the PMO/IMO throughout.
12. Fully adopt the PMO Framework and adhere to processes and procedures across all functions.
13. Ensure all project artefacts and delivery outputs are delivered to a high quality.

Skills & Experience

1. Experience working as a Programme Manager / Senior Project Manager.
2. Experience in the insurance industry is essential.
3. Excellent stakeholder management skills.
4. Managing complex & integration projects.
5. Customer interfacing experience – project oversight, customer presentation – within the Insurance sector.
6. Business Operational Change.
7. Regulatory Change.
8. Project lifecycle and key project components e.g. plan, PID, BRD, RAID log.
9. Excellent project planning skills.
10. Ability to persuade and influence others.
11. Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve including resolution of sophisticated project issues.
