About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join a dynamic and fast-paced engineering team. This is an opportunity to work on technically rigorous, high-spec projects in the Oil & Gas, and high-pressure systems sectors. The role will focus on package design, system integration, and managing multi-disciplinary engineering challenges across various global markets, including the Middle East. This role is suited to someone who thrives on complexity, can take ownership of projects, and is adept at driving progress with internal teams and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring efficient and high-quality execution.
  2. Design and integrate high-pressure systems, including compressors, storage modules, pressure reduction panels, and ancillary equipment.
  3. Focus on system design, mechanical & electrical integration, and control logic development.
  4. Oversee the production of key technical documentation:
    1. Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
    2. Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
    3. Equipment, valve & instrument schedules
    4. Quality & test plans
    5. Operating & maintenance manuals
    6. Spares parts lists & UKCA/CE Marking documentation
  5. Liaise with suppliers and sub-vendors, ensuring timely and effective project execution.
  6. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and control engineers.
  7. Ensure compliance with industry standards (ATEX, PED, IECEx, ASME, etc.).
  8. Conduct technical risk assessments and support HAZOP processes.
  9. Manage SAP-based Bill of Materials (BoM) and cost estimations.
  10. Provide technical support to sales, service, and spares departments.
Essential Requirements
  1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
  2. Experience in highly specified, custom-engineered package design, ideally within the Oil & Gas sector.
  3. Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical integration, including control panels and instrumentation.
  4. Ability to drive projects forward, identifying critical elements and managing timelines effectively.
  5. Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, MS Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
  6. Strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  7. Able to work independently under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  8. A full UK driving licence is required.
Desirable Experience
  1. Experience with packaged equipment for GCC markets.
  2. Familiarity with HVAC systems in hazardous areas.
  3. Background in working with offshore and high-spec engineering environments.
  4. Understanding of nuclear or highly regulated industries.
