Project Engineer - Building Products

Intertek is searching for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Building & Construction team in our York, Pennsylvania office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in Engineering!

The Engineering Services group primarily provides Fenestration and building envelope design, structural evaluation, product evaluations, Product Approval and Certification support services, Engineer of Record overview of unique testing programs, and In-house design and engineering. Range of competency includes various building components and superstructure framing of steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and aluminum.

What you'll do:

1. Perform engineering analysis on a variety of fenestration products including but not limited to cold form steel, windows, doors, storefront, curtain wall, louvers, canopies, sunshades, skylights, handrails, rain screens, panels, and battens.
2. Perform engineering analysis of frame members, glass, and anchors into a variety of substrates for wind load, dead load, blast loads, and other load conditions as needed.
3. Review and interpret building architectural drawings, structural drawings, and other technical documents in support of Engineering Services projects.
4. Create engineering analysis reports.
5. Communicate to customers, in both written and verbal formats, throughout the project duration.
6. Collaborate with Engineering Services team members to support engineering projects.
7. Update personal knowledge and skills necessary to remain current with industry.
8. Other duties as assigned.

What it takes to be successful in this role:

1. Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Structural, or Mechanical).
2. 5 years of engineering experience in the architectural industry.
3. Passed the Engineer in Training exam.
4. Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office suite of products.
5. Experience creating and modifying CAD drawings.
6. Experience with building products.
7. Good written and oral communication skills supporting interactions with project team, clients, designers, contractors, and coworkers.
8. Must be detail-oriented, accurate, and reliable.
9. Follow and enforce safety requirements and company policies.
10. Travel as necessary for projects and clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Professional Engineer license in engineering (Civil, Structural, or Mechanical).
