The Role
As a Senior Project Accountant, you'll support the delivery of current and future projects within our Warships support business unit.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of monthly financial reporting routines.
• Providing financial expertise and cost control guidance to project teams.
• Assisting the finance and senior management team to implement changes for improved effectiveness and efficiency.
• Focusing on continual improvement of processes, with an emphasis on cost controls and management reporting.
• Preparing project status reports and supporting project teams to maximize profitability and control expenditure.
• Preparing contractually required reports and maintaining reporting systems.
• Supporting the production of monthly financial reports.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week, requiring regular travel to our Devonport site in Plymouth, alongside home working arrangements.

Essential Experience:

• Experience in a similar project accountancy/finance role.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with Finance IT applications (IFS etc).
• Strong communication skills, both written and orally.
• Able to communicate effectively with stakeholders at a senior level.

Qualifications:

• Fully qualified in a recognized professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, ACMA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS) or equivalent/similar; part qualified as a minimum.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
