Project Accounting Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Project Accounting Manager to join our Project Accounting Team to cover maternity. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of project data within our central finance systems and for overseeing the monthly billing process. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting project managers, enhancing financial performance, and escalating concerns to senior management.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

1. Deliver spend burn rate analysis to improve forecasting and enhance risk tracking.
2. Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, engaging with Project Directors and Managers to ensure an accurate picture of project profitability.
3. Challenge existing budget assumptions constructively.
4. Ensure strict adherence to team deadlines for all project accounting activities.
5. Maintain the Financial Framework performance of Project Managers and Project Accounting staff with monthly reporting.
6. Conduct projects’ reconciliation including P&L and Balance Sheet.
7. Act as the second line of contact, after the Finance Director, in reviewing and approving client contracts before bid submission.
8. Perform data and variance analysis, including KPI reporting and preparing regular summary reports for the Executive Team.
9. Produce Management Accounts project listings and reporting.
10. Provide technical support and ensure policy adherence for Global Project Accountants under a matrix model.
11. Ensure timely and accurate client billing.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

1. ACCA/CIMA qualification is essential.
2. Experience with SAGE Intacct is advantageous.
3. Proven experience using various ERP systems.
4. Very high standard of Excel proficiency.
5. Extensive experience in a corporate, professional environment, ideally within international consultancy.
6. Strong background in project accounting.
7. Experienced in senior stakeholder engagement.
8. Previous line management experience.
9. Understanding of corporate taxation is desirable.
