The purpose of the Operations team:The purpose of the Operations team is to ensure robust systems, policies and practice are in place to build a strong and sustainable operational platform to enable the growth in the organisation and delivery of impact at scale. The teams work across teams, regions and functions to ensure coherence of approach that remains agile and adaptive to differences in context and need.
The role:This postholder will support with the development and implementation of the Foundation’s overarching grant framework, partnership management cycle management policies and practice across regions and functions of the Fondation. This will include the implementation and monitoring of the Foundation’s risk management framework, due diligence and other key grant management policies and practice with a focus on having clear operational policies and practice across the partnership management cycle. This postholder will need senior level programme and change management skills and experience, technical experience in grant making and grant management as well as risk management.
Responsibilities:- Operationalise the grant framework ensuring all systems, policies and practice are values aligned and fit for purpose.
- Oversee training of key teams and individuals to embed and institutionalise aligned grant making processes and oversight across the foundation.
- Develop clear guidance and training packages for key tools, templates, and practice across the partnership management cycle.
- Lead cross-departmental projects related to compliance, risk, and internal controls particularly in the development of enhanced due diligence framework.
- Ensure buy in and engagement from senior leadership and with relevant teams to deliver projects on time, and in alignment with institutional goals.
- Oversee scoping of new grant management system in coordination with different stakeholder groups across the Foundation and Chanel.
- Training and Capacity Building: Develop and deliver internal training programs on compliance, risk management, and internal control processes.
- Project Management: To effectively communicate and champion risk management across the organisation, to support colleagues to embed the agreed approach in their ways of working.
Experience:- Significant experience of work in grant making, philanthropy and international development, social justice or similar.
- Significant experience enabling good practice approaches to partnership management across the programme cycle.
- Experience of change management approaches and appreciation of culture to introduce and embed changes to approaches and processes.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the development and rollout of grant frameworks.
- A strategic and practical leader who demonstrates initiative to drive projects forward in an organised and effective manner- ability to see the big picture but have great attention to detail.
- Experience of working with Corporate Risk frameworks and managing risk by supporting others across all levels of the organisation.
- Strong understanding of organisational risk management systems including due diligence frameworks and practice.
- Excellent and wide-ranging administrative, planning, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage and take responsibility for own workload within agreed priorities and deadlines, as well as being able to work as part of a team and contribute to team workplans.
- Energised by using initiative and judgement to proactively identify and resolve problems.
- Good relationship and interpersonal skills with ability to lead, advise, train, and provide support across diverse teams.
