Job description

Alchemy Coffee is a London based speciality coffee roastery.

We have great passion for the quality of the coffee that we buy, roast and sell but equally for the customer service we provide. We work with passion, pride, and integrity, we believe that what we do is a craft - a blend of art, skill, science and technology. We are looking for someone to bring their passion, pride and integrity to join our team.

We are recruiting for a production roaster to work with us at our roastery in South Wimbledon, London. This is a physically demanding role requiring a lot of hard work, repetition and attention to detail. This is a Monday-Friday, 8-4 full time position, but may lead to shift work in the future. Part time might be considered for the right applicant.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year of roasting experience - but we might consider a roastery/production assistant who is looking to take the next step into roasting.
  • Experience in cupping and quality control
  • Understanding of stock control and warehouse management
Responsibilities:
  • Production roasting on Probat G30 and P12 using Cropster
  • Packing and preparing orders for dispatch
  • Receiving and managing stock
  • Organising and maintaining general warehouse operations
  • Cleaning and inspecting equipment
  • Cupping and Quality control

There is an opportunity to combine the responsibilities of production roasting with training of our own team and those of our customers to ensure quality and consistency from roasting through to drink production.

Benefits include professional development through internal and externally provided training courses, lots of coffee to drink and beans to take home, cost-price on brewing equipment, cycle to work scheme, etc.

If you are interested in applying, please send an up-to-date CV with a covering letter detailing why you would be suitable for this role to: jobs@alchemycoffee.co.uk. We regret we are only able to reply to applicants selected for an interview.
