My client, a market leader within their industry, is looking for an experienced Senior Product Designer to join their well-established New Product Development team. This role involves being a process champion for a design to manufacturer business in a brilliant industry. An excellent role for a motivated individual looking to further their engineering career.

Role Description

1. Complete large scale, complex projects inline with NPD team processes
2. Design solutions that meet all aspects of specification with required budget and timescale
3. Deliver commercially viable design solutions, with FMEA and ensuring safety and reliability of products
4. Use appropriate design tools such as sketches, models, 3D CAD to communicate solutions
5. Continuously improve on existing design and processes. Taking into consideration product installation methodologies
6. Lead and develop trainee/apprentices in NPD to enable them to produce the best designs for the business

Skills and Qualifications

1. Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering/Design
2. Strong industry experience, managing multiple projects
3. Experience creating 3D CAD following best practice guidelines. Solidworks experience is desirable
4. Skills in tooled component design such as moulding, casting or extruded profiles
5. Strong communication and commercial awareness
6. Knowledge of DFM
