We collaborate with suppliers and internal clients to ensure procurement processes and contracts are managed well and continue to deliver value for money. We use state-of-the-art IT tendering systems for advertising contracts and enable you to do your best work.

Our talented Procurement Team is at the heart of procuring high-quality, value-for-money goods, works, and services. Working in a fast-paced, highly dynamic Mayoral Authority, we procure a whole host of critical contracts for goods, works, and/or services whilst coaching and mentoring other officers.

You'll have the flexibility to work from our base City Hall and home working.

What you'll be doing

You'll provide essential procurement and project management support, making sure every procurement project is delivered effectively and with accuracy. You'll be using our tendering system to keep all relevant data, research, and records accurate and up to date. You'll be involved in liaising with and advising managers to ensure processes are followed, and respond to queries and request key procurement-related information. You'll also be involved in planning the procurement process, preparing tender documentation, advertising the tender opportunity, compiling and recording tender evaluation outcomes with accuracy, drafting correspondence, and debriefing unsuccessful bidders, working with a Procurement Manager who you will support on this project work.

What you will need

You'll be confident in working on your own initiative or as part of a team. You'll have good time management skills and techniques to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines. You'll have the ability to work with a range of clients and colleagues at all levels, therefore, be a confident communicator, with a professional approach to both verbal and written communication.

You'll also need an analytical way of working and a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy. You'll have experience of IT applications with extensive skills in the use of Excel spreadsheets, to be able to prepare complex tender evaluation schemes.
