Senior Procurement Manager - Direct Products & Indirects (Engineering, FM, PPE, Site Services, Capex etc..) | £70,000 - £80,000 + £6,000 Car Allowance + 10% Bonus | £Multi-Billion Energy Major | Manchester, Bolton, Warrington, Liverpool, St Helens, Wigan areas (Hybrid)

My client is a globally renowned, £multi-billion energy & engineering firm who are seeking an experienced Indirect and Directs (Engineering) Procurement Professional to join their recently transformed and expanding procurement function. The role will play an integral part in devising and implementing effective procurement strategies across Indirect and Direct Procurement (Directs - Engineering, Indirects - Capex, FM, PPE, Site Services etc...) related spend in alignment with the company's ambitious strategic goals as part of the transformation.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity whereby the Senior Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing a team of 3 and all aspects of strategic sourcing. This role will play an integral part in managing both key supplier relationships and internal stakeholders to help drive this highly innovative and transforming procurement function towards best in class. Along the way, you'll hone and advance your skillset, build in-depth industry knowledge, and further develop your career within an established market leader who is experiencing a period of accelerated growth.

The firm is offering circa £70,000 - £80,000 + £6,000 Car Allowance + 10% Bonus and a hybrid working structure of c.2 office days based out of Manchester, Bolton, Warrington, Liverpool, St Helens, Wigan areas (Hybrid).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic sourcing plan in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholder groups, ensuring the delivery of goods and services that meet quality standards while being cost-effective.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes across Direct Products and Indirect Procurement related spend, identifying supplier initiatives and fostering strong relationships to optimize spending.
  • Oversee key supplier relationships by conducting regular reviews and audits, ensuring contract terms are met, and maximizing value from each supplier partnership.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to enhance the impact of procurement activities and act as a point of escalation for any supplier-related issues or concerns.

Experience Required:

  • CIPS or MCIPS qualified. Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong procurement experience across Direct Procurement, Indirects or Capex, FM, PPE, Major Projects or Engineering related Procurement.
  • An industry background within Automotive, Pharma, Energy, Chemicals, Manufacturing, Civil Engineering or related field would translate well.
  • Strong experience in end-to-end procurement and the ability to improve operational efficiencies, reduce risk, drive best-in-class procurement and achieve cost savings.
  • Strong stakeholder management and SRM experience, strong influencing and communication skills.
  • Ability to present to senior leaders, preempt questions and inform decisions.
  • Analytical proficiency with a solid understanding of commercial/contract risk.
  • Experience working in a matrix environment, experience dealing with both complexity and ambiguity.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable with complex problem-solving.
