Are you a strategic thinker and strong negotiator with a background in FMCG or food retail? A leading FMCG company in the North West is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to join its dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping procurement strategies and driving value within a fast-paced, market-leading organisation.

About the Role:

As Senior Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for:

  1. Strategically sourcing goods and services to enhance quality and drive innovation at optimal cost.
  2. Leading category management strategies and cross-functional teams.
  3. Ensuring responsible sourcing in line with ethical, regulatory, and sustainability standards.
  4. Acting as a consultative partner, providing insights across spend categories.
  5. Championing best-in-class procurement processes and governance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimise cost and supplier relationships.
  2. Utilise SAP Ariba and other tools to drive procurement efficiency.
  3. Lead negotiations and establish long-term supplier partnerships.
  4. Provide market intelligence and regular reporting on cost-saving initiatives.
  5. Manage supplier relationships, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

What We’re Looking For:

  1. Experience in procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing.
  2. Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation skills.
  3. Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP experience desirable).
  4. Understanding of contract principles and supplier development.
  5. Degree-level qualification (business-related) and CIPS accreditation (desirable).
  6. Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and overseas.
