Job IntroductionThe Procurement team is repositioning itself to become a strategic enabler for BBC. Procurement Enablement will form a key part in this transformation, delivering enablers for Procurement and its stakeholders.
The Senior Procurement Enablement Manager for Systems & Tools will play a key part in this, acting as the primary contact and leader for systems utilised by procurement and its stakeholders.
With the support of Enablement GPO teams, the role is responsible for the roll out and active development of the procurement systems strategy. The role will work closely with the Procurement SLT and other GPOs to align on ways of working and opportunities.
The senior enablement manager is a part of the procurement enablement leadership team and plays a key part in developing the enablement strategy and team culture as foundations for a high performing team.
Main Responsibilities- Responsible for actively defining and monitoring the performance of procurement systems and tools, identifying and leading continuous improvement to enhance efficiencies and drive adoption and standardisation.
- Responsible for developing the systems strategy for procurement, collaborating closely with the technology group, ensuring procurement systems support the wider technology roadmap and future ERP upgrade.
- Responsible for defining and monitoring service levels with the system providers, including service reviews and identifying opportunities for further enhancements.
- Ensuring all relevant staff receives adequate training to understand the systems in tools in use, ensuring a continuous digitalisation of procurement.
- Manages a small team and acts as a role model, coaches and develops a high performing enablement team, creating opportunities for progression and succession planning.
- Works with all the relevant stakeholders, business, procurement, legal, sustainability, third party risk management, and finance teams to ensure best practice is applied across systems and associated business processes.
- Responsible for influencing and aligning multiple stakeholders to ensure consistent and efficient processes are in place, which are aligned to business needs.
- Keeps abreast of industry trends and best practices in procurement through external research and peer networking and incorporating them into the BBC procurement enablement strategy.
Are you the right candidate?- Extensive experience managing, implementing and optimising Procurement systems such as SAP Ariba, Jaggaer.
- Strong understanding of how procurement systems integrate with finance, ERP systems and external data sources to enable end-to-end process delivery in Source-to-Pay and Supplier Relationship Management.
- Proven track record in leading procurement system implementations or upgrades, including requirements gathering, vendor selection, configuration, testing and go-live activities.
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with internal stakeholders, including procurement, finance, technology and operational teams to ensure systems meet business requirements.
- Proven ability to gather and prioritise stakeholder feedback to inform system enhancements and address pain points.
- Experience establishing governance frameworks for procurement systems, ensuring proper access controls, data integrity and compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Strong experience in identifying opportunities to optimise procurement systems, automating workflows and improving user experience.
- Understanding of emerging technologies, including AI to enhance procurement processes.
- Experience in designing and delivering comprehensive training programs for end users, ensuring smooth transitions and maximising system utilisation.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks and resolve technical issues in collaboration with technology and external software providers.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring team members responsible for managing procurement systems and tools.
- Experience in preparing reports, presentations and papers, with the ability to convey complex information in simple terms to a range of audiences.
- Experience of large ERP and Procurement systems and associated processes (SAP ECC6, S4/Hana, Jaggaer, SAP Ariba).
- Desirable - Professional qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, ICM, MCIPS or similar).
