Job description

The Company

Our market leading client plays a prominent role within oil and gas. They’re a business that has a solid footprint within the Australian market and continue to lead by example. Due to continued growth, they’re looking to recruit an experienced Procurement Lead that has expert knowledge of sourcing all elements of logistics and transport both locally and internationally.

Role is based in Brisbane; however, they could be flexible on Sydney or Perth.

The Role

Working within a large, complex organisation, this role's responsibilities will focus around:

  1. Contract management for all external logistics and transport providers across the businesses ANZ operation.
  2. Drive areas of cost reduction across current suppliers, work on developing new suppliers who align with the company's strict requirements.
  3. Continue to develop contingent plans for the business focusing on mitigating risks to the business's supply chain.
  4. Drive strong data management within your field, making sure all data is accurate for internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Continue to ensure best processes and also improve processes and frameworks within your category with a focus on best practice.
  6. Present to senior leaders within the business short to long-term strategies within your category.
  7. Lead and develop a small team across strategic and day-to-day responsibilities.
  8. Provide good stakeholder management with external providers, being an expert and understanding how complex logistics and transport operate.

Your Background

  1. 6 years experience in a strategic procurement role, ideally within logistics and transport.
  2. Strong ability to understand your category, main suppliers, and areas of driving cost savings.
  3. Expert understanding of logistics operations; operational experience would be beneficial. Strong ability to work closely and influence multiple stakeholders internally and externally to drive effective outcomes. This could include logistics knowledge, negotiations, and the presentation of market research to senior leadership.
  4. Present good leadership skills and the motivation to grow and develop within your career.
  5. Have the ability to be the link between internal stakeholders and encourage input that will generate the right information which will be used when sourcing new product, in particular to NPD.
  6. Territory qualified - Degree in Supply Chain or other certification - CIPS, etc - Not essential.
