Process Safety Engineer – Permanent

We are looking for an experienced Process Safety Engineer to provide expert support across multiple industrial sites, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and enhancing operational safety.
Key Responsibilities
Provide process safety expertise to all UK & Ireland sites.
Advise on hazard identification, risk assessment, and major accident prevention.
Support the management of safety-critical elements (SCEs).
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation (e.g., COMAH, DSEAR) and industry standards.
Lead and facilitate hazard studies, risk assessments, and process safety reviews.
Support emergency preparedness planning and incident investigation.
Drive continuous improvement in process safety culture and leadership.
Assist with change management processes, ensuring safe and compliant implementation.
Conduct audits, management reviews, and assurance activities.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement safety improvements.
Interpret and apply PFDs, P&IDs, and other process safety documentation.
Required Skills & Experience
Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum 8 years of experience in process safety within a regulated industry (COMAH preferred).
Chartered Engineer (IChemE or equivalent) or actively working towards chartership.
Experience in COMAH report submission and regulatory engagement.
Strong understanding of process plant technology and unit operations.
Proven ability to lead technical discussions and facilitate safety reviews.
Skilled in project management, change management, and risk analysis.
Strong auditing and compliance experience.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.
