Senior/Principal Engineer - Water industry


As the Senior or Principal Water Engineer, you will have UK based experience in the water industry working on high profile infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Technical Leadership & Project Management
    • Oversee and deliver complex detailed design projects within the UK water industry.
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
    • Take responsibility for project planning, resource allocation, and delivery within agreed timelines and budgets.
  2. Engineering Management & Team Development
    • Develop leadership and management skills to transition into an Engineering Manager role.
    • Support the growth of a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
    • Contribute to strategic decision-making, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  3. Client & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Work closely with key clients, understanding their needs and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
    • Lead client meetings and presentations, strengthening long-term relationships.
    • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, structural engineers, and environmental specialists.
Qualifications & Experience

  1. UK-based experience is essential, with 5+ years of experience in civil engineering within the UK water industry.
  2. Strong background in detailed design, including trunk mains, distribution mains, and production site civils.
  3. Proficiency in industry-standard software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, structural analysis tools).
  4. Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or actively working towards it (ICE or similar).
  5. Experience leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.
