Salary: £47,000 - £58,000 – Depends on Experience

An exciting opportunity awaits a talented Senior or Principal Transport Planner in Manchester. The role involves leading transport planners, delivering complex projects, and shaping solutions for multimillion-pound schemes.

The project work would be cross-sector, with potential involvement in residential, industrial, healthcare, town/city centre mixed use, energy schemes etc. Projects range from small scale (<£10k fee) to large scale (up to £100k fee).

There would be the opportunity to work with big names like Peel and Bruntwood, as well as a wide range of developer and landowner clients. Also, some public sector clients too – GM Boroughs, the NHS etc.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Expertise: Prepare Transport Statements and Assessments, Travel Plans, and transport sections of Environmental Statements.
2. Project Leadership: Oversee tasks and projects, ensuring clear communication within the team.
3. Client Interaction: Represent the company in meetings with clients, planners, architects, and contractors.
4. Design Contribution: Assist in developing site access designs and masterplans, considering all transport modes.
5. Quality Assurance: Adhere to the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in all projects.
6. Resource Allocation: Manage project resources effectively to ensure efficiency.
7. Training & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and training to Transport Planners and Graduates.

Key Requirements:

1. A relevant degree (or equivalent) and actively working towards a professional qualification.
2. Extensive experience as a Transport Planner, preferably in a consultancy setting.
3. Ability to manage multiple client expectations and contribute effectively to project meetings.
4. Commercial awareness with a basic understanding of project finances.
5. Strong numerical skills, data analysis capability, and proficiency in junction modelling software such as JUNCTIONS and LinSig (or equivalent).
