Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer

I'm working with a highly respected, employee-owned consultancy that's looking to grow its Civils/Geotechnical team in York. They're known for delivering high-quality work across the rail, transport, energy, and infrastructure sectors, with a strong focus on practical, cost-effective engineering solutions. They're now looking for an experienced Senior or Principal Geotechnical Engineer who wants to play a key role in project delivery, team development, and client engagement.

What they're looking for:

1. 8+ years' experience in geotechnical engineering with a proven track record on complex, high-profile projects
2. Strong background in infrastructure design (e.g. rail, tunnels, retaining walls, stations, etc.)
3. Experience working with major clients like Network Rail, London Underground, or TfL
4. Technical design expertise across a range of materials: concrete, steel, timber, masonry, FRP
5. Chartered or near-chartered (ICE preferred)
6. Excellent communication, leadership and client development skills
7. A commercial mindset and desire to contribute to a growing team
