Your New Role

As a Senior/Principal Civil Engineer, you will be a key leader responsible for managing and overseeing major water infrastructure projects. You will spearhead the design, delivery, and execution of solutions, ensuring projects meet regulatory requirements and client expectations. As a senior team member, you will mentor junior staff, foster client relationships, and drive innovation in water and wastewater engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the planning, design, and implementation of projects.
2. Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, including adherence to CDM regulations and business management systems.
3. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and team members.
4. Manage project resources, budgets, and timelines effectively.
5. Act as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring strong, ongoing relationships.
6. Promote innovation and the adoption of new technologies in the water sector.
7. Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and sustainability in all project activities.

What We're Looking For:

1. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
2. Significant experience in civil engineering design and project management, specifically within the water or wastewater sector.
3. Strong understanding of water engineering principles, hydraulic systems, and infrastructure design.
4. Leadership skills with a proven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and complex projects.
5. Excellent technical expertise in water infrastructure, wastewater infrastructure, and treatment works.
6. Proficiency in relevant software such as Civil 3D and other engineering design programs.
7. In-depth knowledge of CDM regulations, health & safety legislation, and industry best practices.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage clients, stakeholders, and colleagues effectively.
9. Chartered status or working towards chartership (ICE, CIWEM, or similar) is required.
10. A passion for continuous professional development and a drive to innovate in water engineering.

Location & Flexible Working

Primary locations for this role are Glasgow or London, with potential for Sheffield or Exeter for the right candidates. For Principal+ level candidates, we are open to fully remote working, with the potential to establish and lead a new office in a suitable location.
