Job Description:

As a Senior or Principal Civil Engineer, you will have the opportunity to use your experience on projects from concept through outline and detailed design to construction, leading teams in the delivery of consultancy projects. You will be part of the Water Utilities team working primarily in the Thames Water or Southern regions.

About the Role

1. Lead civil engineering and/or multi-disciplinary teams and support junior engineers.
2. Create outline and detailed designs for multi-disciplinary water utilities projects.
3. Produce calculations and reports to support those designs.
4. Work directly with clients to understand their needs and develop solutions.
5. Produce business cases and proposals to enable clients to fund their projects.
6. Collaborate with construction partners to improve safety and understand the construction process.
7. Ensure designs account for buildability, sustainability, health & safety, and environmental requirements.

About You

1. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with the Institution of Civil Engineers or another relevant institution.
2. Previous experience in the water sector is not essential; we seek technical skills transferable to civil engineering roles in the water sector.
3. Desire to support and mentor junior engineers towards achieving Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Self-motivated and effective team player.
6. A drive to deliver sustainable solutions in the water and environment industries.
7. Flexible working arrangements, including a mixture of office and remote working, nine-day fortnights, or other full-time or part-time options.
