This role requires close collaboration with internal partners and a strong business understanding to make sure that we have a well-rounded view of data to enable customer focused commercial decisions.

This role will require a solid grasp of PowerBI/MS Fabric, SQL and technical skills, as well as good interpersonal skills, so that you are able to mine internal data alongside partner feedback and ultimately visualize data in a digestible and relevant format, to provide insight into the business.

You will be responsible for:
  1. Develop, maintain and improve insightful and visually engaging BI reports and dashboards.
  2. Receive and develop briefs from the business and use our internal and external sources to provide a comprehensive view of the data available.
  3. Be directly accountable for product performance and partner engagement to improve value to the business.
  4. Liaise with key collaborators regularly to understand their needs and develop dashboards accordingly, offer constructive advice, challenge briefs and regularly gather feedback to optimise existing dashboards.
  5. Bring your individual expertise to the squad to deliver at pace using short cycles of experimentation with a 'fail-fast-learn-fast' demeanour.
  6. Participate in all squad ceremonies and events, raising impediments as soon as identified to facilitate delivery.
  7. Inspect and adapt your way of working for continuous improvement.
  8. Deliver accurate, informative and timely analysis to the business to help them make better decisions and enable Tesco Mobile to serve its customers a little better every day.
  9. Ability to simplify the sophisticated and generate detailed insights then communicate them clearly.
  10. Be a trusted insight advisor to selected squads across the business as the need arises, develop business knowledge together and identify new opportunities to deliver insight.
  11. Continually look to improve processes through efficiencies and by applying best practice.
  12. Ensure that your squads are utilising available BI tools and that new requirements are fed into the PowerBI & Automation squad.
  13. Regularly showcase the power of PowerBI to the business through training, to drive usage and increase users.
  14. Be a domain expert on the data you employ and coach and mentor less experienced squad and chapter members to develop their skill-sets.
You will need:
  1. Strong BI dashboard and reporting development experience (PowerBI/MS Fabric preferred).
  2. Experience in getting partners to self-serve their data is a bonus.
  3. Good interpersonal skills so that you can work closely with the squads you support.
  4. Skilled at adapting communication for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  5. Highly skilled at crafting engaging, actionable, easy to understand insight with a track record of crafting compelling data visualisations.
  6. A curiosity about acquiring insight from large data sets and sharing those insights with the wider business.
  7. Experience in coding sophisticated SQL queries against a large relational customer database, identifying relevant data sources and summarising to provide the insight as identified.
  8. Highly numerate with a Degree in Mathematics/Statistics or equivalent with high numerate content.
  9. Ability to resolve data-related problems.
  10. Comfortable working with a product backlog and self-organising to deliver it.
