Job description

Job Description

MCS Group is proud to be working with a highly skilled Manufacturing company, to recruit a Senior PLC Engineer to join their growing team based in Dungannon.

As a PLC Engineer, you will lead the full software development life cycle, such as defining requirements, coding, reviewing designs, and testing at every level, including operating and testing the hardware on which the software runs. You will provide mentoring and technical direction, helping to identify technical solutions to realise design.

You will be responsible for:

  • Design and develop software for machines that control hydraulics and electrical control systems with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Design Electrical Schematics
  • Create drawings with accurate BOM for electrical components
  • Create technical documentation including work instructions, parts lists, list of critical parts and maintenance components
  • Provide customer support and troubleshooting
  • Assure product quality by designing electrical testing methods, testing finished products and system capabilities
  • Adhere to ISO 9001, QMS

Essential Requirements

  • HND or equivalent in electronic/electrical engineering or relevant working experience
  • Previous experience in a similar design software role
  • Knowledge of Siemens, and Codesys
  • Experienced in schematics and software programming design using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks
