We are looking to recruit an ambitious planner seeking to further their experience within Development Management and take their career to the next level. This opportunity arises in response to an identified need to expand the experience of our existing team to meet the challenge of the Government's growth agenda. You will be based within one of the two area teams and the role will involve you in a range of more complex planning (and associated) applications.

You will work within the beautiful Herefordshire countryside as well as dealing with casework within the city of Hereford or its surrounding market towns and villages. The County is rich in biodiversity, landscape and heritage value including two National Landscapes, Special Areas of Conservation, Conservation Areas and many listed buildings. We think it’s a truly outstanding place to work, that will offer the right candidate a fantastic opportunity to develop their career within a supportive and collaborative team environment; gain valuable experience in a wide range of casework, as well as an opportunity to shape a sustainable future for Herefordshire as the Council embarks on a review of its Core Strategy.

What is important to us is finding the right person to help us deliver a first-class service and continue the ongoing work to transform our service. You will have a degree in Planning or a related degree and you should either be a chartered member or eligible for future membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute. You will have the ability to drive around the county and support for further career development will be available for the right candidate.
