Senior PHP Developer, Fareham

At Chargehive, we're proudly driving down the cost of revenue operations for subscription-based SaaS companies. We build software to enable subscription management, intelligent billing collection cycles, and automated global tax calculations.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain and enhance existing PHP codebase.
2. Lead the migration of monolithic PHP applications into microservices architecture.
3. Develop new features and functionalities using PHP and/or Golang.
4. Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate APIs.
5. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

Technical Expertise:

1. Stay up-to-date with the latest backend technologies and trends.
2. Proactively identify and address technical debt.
3. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
4. Mentor other backend engineers.

Problem Solving:

1. Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues.
2. Analyze and optimize application performance.
3. Work independently and take ownership of tasks.
4. Be adaptable and capable of taking on new backend frameworks and technologies as needed.

Requirements:

1. Strong proficiency in PHP.
2. Experience with Golang is a plus.
3. Proven ability to build scalable and efficient backend applications.
4. Excellent attention to detail and a passion for clean code.
5. Experience with Payment Processing and PCI compliance is a major plus.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
