About the team
The Strategy, Performance & Improvement Team is one of the central Government Finance Function (GFF) teams; we are responsible for driving finance performance, standards (GovS006: Finance) & leading practice to achieve a vision of a modern, digital finance function that delivers quality services more effectively & efficiently.
We launched our 5-year functional strategy in early 2025; and want to establish a clear line of sight from performance metrics to strategic objectives, and enable meaningful performance insight for senior decision makers across government into the efficiency and effectiveness of the function. We pride ourselves on providing an encouraging working environment, role modelling flexible working and inclusivity, with opportunities to build networks within the finance function and beyond.
About the role
Our Senior Performance Analyst is a new role within our team, which focuses on innovative and robust use of data to support project and policy decision-making.
Through your work, you will have exposure to senior partners across departmental boundaries, establishing yourself as a trusted partner and build a strong network of relationships with internal and external collaborators at all levels.

About you
A proficiency in data analytics tools, such as PowerBI/Automate, are a must. Additionally, our ideal candidate will be skilled at analysing and assessing from a range of relevant data sources to develop credible recommendations and deliver valuable insight. You will also be able to build positive working relationships to mutually benefit work areas, as well as clear and straightforward communication style, for maximum impact.
