Senior Payroll Specialist

VANRATH are excited to partner with a leading global Accountancy Practice to recruit a highly skilled Senior Payroll Specialist. In this pivotal role, you will help manage payroll processes for global clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance while contributing to the success of a growing firm.

What You'll Do
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients regarding payroll queries, providing professional and timely support
  • Liaise with HMRC for PAYE or other payroll-related queries on behalf of clients
  • Maintain and update payroll spreadsheets with precision and accuracy
  • Ensure payroll is processed ahead of deadlines, meeting all necessary compliance requirements
  • Calculate employee salaries, including sick pay, holiday pay, and statutory maternity/paternity pay
  • Input new employees into the payroll system using the Starter Checklist or P45, ensuring accuracy from the outset
  • Monitor and check HMRC for any updates to student loans, tax codes, or other relevant payroll information
  • Manage year-end procedures, including the preparation of P60s and uploading them to relevant platforms
  • Handle the distribution of payslips, P45s, and P60s, both via email and uploads as required
  • Ensure accurate pension contributions are uploaded for both employees and employers to the respective schemes
About You
  • At least 4 years' recent experience in an accountancy practice/payroll bureau
  • Professional manner with clients
  • Working knowledge of payroll legislation
  • Experience with SAGE is essential
