Senior Organisational Development Partner

NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board

We are seeking an enthusiastic Organisational Development (OD) Partner to play a crucial role in leading organisational development and change initiatives. Being at the forefront of driving strategic transformation, you will support culture programmes to improve staff experience and develop leadership capability to deliver a compassionate and inclusive culture across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes (BLMK). Inclusion will be at the forefront of your approach, ensuring equality, diversity, inclusion, and belonging (EDIB) is paramount in attracting, developing, and nurturing talent across BLMK, and is threaded into all aspects of the employee lifecycle, driving a culture that encourages engagement in such interventions.

Develop, lead, and facilitate OD and culture programmes to improve staff experience and develop leadership capability to deliver a compassionate and inclusive culture. Promote an integrated approach to OD focused on delivering people promise priorities and other NHS relevant strategies through the delivery of our newly developed OD strategy.

Person Specification

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

  • Educated to Master's level in Human Resources or Organisation Development or equivalent experience.
  • Highly developed specialist professional knowledge covering a range of OD functions, underpinned by theoretical knowledge gained through further academic study and/or experience at a Senior level.
  • Evidence of further training relating to OD/learning and development/management development.
  • An understanding of the background and current aims of integrated care policy and the implementation of this engagement.
  • An appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health, Integrated Care Boards, Local Authorities and individual provider and commissioning organisations.
  • Good understanding and expert knowledge of: a. OD consultancy and designing interventions b. Leadership and management, talent and succession planning theory c. OD tools and ability to translate to practice at a personal and organisational level d. Change management theory, principles, and tools e. Organisational Culture.
  • Experience working within the NHS.
  • Experience working with topics including Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, and Health and Wellbeing.

Professional Registration

Organisational Skills

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy and changing environment.
  • Ability to provide and receive highly complex, sensitive or contentious information, negotiate with senior stakeholders on difficult and controversial issues including performance and change, and present complex and sensitive information to large and influential groups.
  • Project management experience, leading and managing change projects in complex environments.
  • Understanding of project principles, techniques, and tools e.g. Prince 2, STAR, QISR, Agile.

Management Skills

  • Must be able to prioritise own work effectively and be able to direct activities of others. Experience in managing and motivating a team and reviewing the performance of the individuals.

Equality and Diversity

  • A thorough understanding of and commitment to equality of opportunity and good working relationships both in terms of day-to-day working practices and in relation to management systems for BLMK.
