Description

The starting salary for this role is £46,399 per annum, based on a 36-hour week, or £23,199 per annum, based on an 18-hour week.

We are looking for enthusiastic Senior Occupational Therapists to join our team, providing professional Occupational Therapy to children, young people and families living in Surrey. We have both a full-time (36 hours per week) vacancy and a part-time (18 hours per week) vacancy.

The team has two office bases, one in Reigate (Woodhatch Place) and the other in Woking (currently Quadrant Court but we will soon be moving to Victoria Gate). However, this is a community-based hybrid role so will involve visiting children in their homes, working from your own home, and/or using any other Surrey County Council offices as and when required.

Rewards and Benefits

  • 26 days holiday (prorated for part-time staff), rising to 28 days after 2 years' service and 30 days after 5 years' service.
  • Option to buy up to 10 days of additional annual leave.
  • An extensive Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) to support health and wellbeing.
  • Up to 5 days of carer's leave per year.
  • Paternity, adoption and dependents' leave.
  • A generous local government salary-related pension.
  • Lifestyle discounts including gym, travel, shopping and many more.
  • 2 paid volunteering days per year.
  • Learning and development hub where you can access a wealth of resources.

About the Team

The Team is a well-established and very experienced team and sits within the Children with Disabilities Resources services alongside the Children's Crisis Service and Children with Disabilities Outreach, with strong links with all other Children with Disabilities Social Work Teams.

About the Role

This is a Children's Social Care Senior Occupational Therapist role. This will involve you managing a complex caseload, providing full Occupational Therapy assessments, advice and support for children and young people with a wide range of needs, and will include completing risk assessments for the provision of specialist equipment and making recommendations for major and minor adaptations.

You will work alongside our experienced specialist team of Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Social Workers, and Support Workers. We offer access to formal and informal learning opportunities, support and supervision that encourages Therapists to be creative and innovative and to continuously develop their skills.

You will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapy Team Manager.

Shortlisting Criteria

To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered.
  • Experience working as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in Children's Social Care; however, OTs who have any other children or adult OT experience will be considered.

Surrey has both urban and rural areas, and locality-based social care workers will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle, and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area. Reasonable adjustments where needed will be made for successful applicants who have a disability or long-term health condition to enable them to fulfil the requirements of the job.
