Job Overview
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, part-time (30 hours) Occupational Therapist to join Torfaen Community Mental Health Team. The post is fixed term (or a secondment) for 12 months. Those applying for a secondment must seek permission from their line manager.
The post holder will work under the direction of the Professional Lead Occupational Therapist for the borough and will be required to use occupational therapy assessments and interventions to inform the overall assessment and recovery plan of service users. The occupational-focused 'Discovery Through Activity' programme is established across the service. All occupational therapists have use of MOHO assessment tools. The post holder will be required to care coordinate individuals with occupational needs and undertake Care and Treatment Planning assessments.
The post holder will work within a multi-disciplinary team to provide assessment and recovery-focused support. The team has developed excellent links with local third sector organisations and community resources to promote opportunities to engage in meaningful occupation.
The post is part of a wider network and professional structure of occupational therapists across the mental health and learning disabilities division with regular practice forums and workshop opportunities to develop occupational therapy across services.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
