Senior NPD Technologist (New Product Development)

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an Senior NPD Technologist to join our NPD Department at our busy Preston site near Hull. The successful candidate will be a key member of the team, responsible for delivering projects from concept to launch, working closely with both internal teams and customers.
Main Duties Include (but not limited to):
- Product Development: Work closely with the NPD Chef and other teams to develop new concepts and ensure products meet the specifications for consumer and business needs, with a strong focus on quality and innovation.
- Customer Engagement: Act as a key contact for customers, participating in presentations and responding to feedback, ensuring effective communication throughout the product development process.
- Project Management: Manage development projects from customer brief to launch, ensuring all aspects are delivered on time and meet customer and business requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside departments including technical, operations, and commercial teams to ensure the smooth launch of new products and compliance with company policies.
- Cost Considerations: Ensure new product developments align with commercial requirements, including managing ingredient costs and publishing accurate recipes for costing and sign-off.
- Market Insight: Stay informed on market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activity, contributing to benchmarking and concept development.
- Launch process custodian: Ensure meticulous adherence to the product development process, rigorously overseeing each stage's completion, accurate documentation, and effective communication with key stakeholders.
You Will Have:
- A strong passion for food and innovation
- Strong communication skills and customer-facing experience
- Previous experience in a similar role within the food industry
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work cross-functionally
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
