As the Senior Network Engineer, you will work with our Network Architect on designing, implementing and maintaining our network infrastructure.
This role requires a deep understanding of network protocols, security and performance optimization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with a broad array of hardware vendors but most notably Cisco.
You will also have the responsibility of mentoring and guiding one direct report.

Main Responsibilities
- Assist the Network Architect in the design, deployment and management of an enterprise-level network infrastructure.
- Ensure network security and performance by monitoring/troubleshooting network issues.
- Collaborate with the Network Architect to develop and implement network strategies and solutions.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to the Network Engineer.
- Manage and maintain network hardware and software from various vendors but primarily Cisco.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, configurations, and policies.
- Conduct regular network performance assessments and capacity planning.
- Implement and manage network monitoring tools and protocols.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the network infrastructure remains competitive.
Requirements
Qualifications/Experience:
- CCNP or equivalent certification preferred.
- Additional certifications (e.g., CCIE, CISSP) are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
Skills and knowledge:
- Extensive experience with Cisco networking equipment and technologies.
- Strong understanding of network protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), routing (static, dynamic), and switching (VLANs, STP, VTP).
- Experience with network security practices and technologies (Firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).
- Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and lead a small team.
- Experience with other hardware vendors is a plus (e.g., Palo Alto, Mellanox).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible).
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS).
