Job Description

We are seeking a senior engineer to lead a development team supporting and growing an extensive portfolio of both in-house and commercial off-the-shelf enterprise applications to help our client in the healthcare industry achieve their organisational goals.

You will be working with an established, experienced team using a wide array of technologies to implement client requested changes, diagnose and resolve problems, and devise technical and process improvements to the highest standards.

We work alongside our clients daily as an extension of their own teams to build relationships, discuss their needs, refine solutions, report progress, and provide technical support. You will be required to have excellent client-facing skills as well as solid technical knowledge and development craft skills.

Flexible working - We are guided by our client work and needs; however, you have autonomy to manage your time and diary to suit your work/life balance.

Qualifications

As part of our Digital & Data consulting capability, you will work alongside colleagues from across PA – delivering transformative digital solutions to today’s most complex business challenges. Our teams are trusted to deliver and are given the space to be awesome. We are an inclusive community for the curious, generous, pragmatic, and committed digital practitioners.

  • You will have the support of experienced professionals within the team, who can give you guidance and help you make decisions.
  • You will have responsibility for owning and delivering on specific tasks, being the design authority and accountable for creating solutions.
  • You will be a trusted member of the team and will be empowered to move things forward under your own steam.
  • You will be expected to coach more junior team members, working with them to build their own expertise.
  • It is important you feel comfortable having team discussions with the client on the project and contributing your thoughts and ideas into the team.

Essential:

  • Full stack development experience with a strong knowledge of:
  • CSS, HTML, and JavaScript/Typescript
  • Common network protocols and data exchange formats
  • Backend API development and server-side rendering approaches
  • Consistent REST API design
  • Data modelling and querying of both transactional and analytical databases
  • A proven track record of delivering end-to-end solutions and supporting incremental updates to legacy systems.
  • 5+ years of professional .NET experience:
  • Entity framework 6 and Core
  • ASP.NET MVC and MVC Core
  • Data manipulation and querying in a conventional RDBMS, such as:
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • MySQL
  • Postgres
  • Configuring, deploying, troubleshooting, and optimising solutions in a cloud platform, particularly AWS.
  • Experience working in an agile development team, leading on technical approach, and coaching other developers in the team.
  • Examples of performing in a client-facing role.
  • A methodical troubleshooting and problem-solving mindset for resolving issues during development and when they may arise in a complex production situation.

We know the skill-gap and ‘somewhat need to tick every box’ can get in the way of meeting brilliant candidates, so please don’t hesitate to apply – we’d love to hear from you.

We are currently operating a discretionary hybrid working model which is designed to help you plan your work and your life. We want our people to come into the office at least two days a week.

Apply today by completing our online application.
