Job description

We are seeking a Senior Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly and dynamic medicines management team at Royal London Hospital. You should hold a BTEC or NVQ Level 3 (Pharmaceutical Services) qualification or equivalent and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

We require an individual with drive, enthusiasm, excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and have the ability to work under pressure. You should be a team player, able to perform effectively within the pharmacy and wider healthcare settings. The role will have provision to support medicine management duties at ward level.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work on the wards and deliver quality care to patients at ward level through efficient medicines optimisation. This will include the assessment of patient's own drugs, medicine reconciliation, original pack dispensing at ward level, counseling patients about their medicines and coordinating the supply of discharge medication. The post holder will work with their ward based team to continually develop the service, while maintaining high standards and achieving best practice to meet the needs of patients and the Trust. The role will also involve dispensary based responsibilities.
