The Medicines Effectiveness Team are excited to announce a fantastic opportunity to join the newly established Best Value Medicines and Biologics Group. This innovative team, alongside the Medicines Effectiveness Team, will play a pivotal role in driving cost-saving initiatives across biologic medicines while ensuring that patients continue to receive the highest standards of care.
The Best Value Medicines and Biologics Group will focus on identifying, promoting, and implementing strategies to maximise cost-saving opportunities for both commissioners and the Trust. By evaluating and optimising biologic prescribing and usage, the team will ensure that value for money is achieved across the healthcare system, while maintaining clinical effectiveness and safety.
As a member of this dynamic team, you will work collaboratively with clinical and financial stakeholders, including prescribers, pharmacists, commissioners, and procurement teams, to identify areas where cost efficiencies can be made, particularly in the use of biosimilars and other biologic therapies. The post holder will be supporting clinical teams in all aspects relating to the mobilising of identified cost saving opportunities.
The successful candidate will provide Senior Pharmacy Technician support to all homecare services, with a special interest in areas relating to the Best Value Medicines and Biologics Group.
