Red Nucleus is hiring a Senior Medical Writer to join our EMEA team! This role is based out of our London, UK office, where you would work 3 days per week. We are ideally looking for a candidate with experience in cardiometabolic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular and liver disease, and/or rare diseases. Experience in oncology is also desirable.

How you will contribute
The projects we work on are diverse, spanning from pre-launch to post-launch positions of drug brand life cycles from both a medical and commercial perspective, and for multiple audiences, from external healthcare providers to sales representatives and medical science liaisons. The materials we produce focus on scientific and product knowledge, as well as the skills needed to communicate this to healthcare providers.

As a Senior Medical Writer at Red Nucleus, you will:
- Partner with clients to understand their goals, objectives, and strategy; recommend and help shape solid learning or medical education solutions that convey and reinforce the client's goals for the target audience
- Research, learn, and distil complex scientific information and communicate it clearly to the target audience(s)
- Balance compelling and scientifically rigorous storytelling within regulatory frameworks and in alignment with client goals
- Collaborate with project/account managers, instructional designers, graphic artists, programmers, editors, and quality assurance specialists to ensure clients' needs are met and the end product is accurate and of high quality
- Ensure high quality and accurate materials are produced by the medical writing team through reviews, appropriate training and championing internal processes
- Review the work of other writers for flow, scientific accuracy and meeting clients' briefs
- Mentor junior writers of the content team
About you
- A passion for education, learning and science communication, with an interest in digital solutions
- Broad scientific knowledge, with at least a BSc, if not a higher scientific degree
- The ability to get up to speed with a new disease area quickly
- 3+ years' experience in the medical communications and/or pharmaceutical industry, developing content for promotional, disease awareness and/or training programmes
- Creativity and curiosity to create engaging narratives, innovative educational solutions, and to solve project-based challenges
- Experience of mentoring medical writers
- An ambition to succeed by exceeding client expectations
- Ability to manage and enjoy the challenge of interweaving multiple and changing projects, tasks and priorities within a deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment
- Ability to thrive in a team environment
- Capacity to positively accept and implement constructive feedback from internal and external sources
- Ability to conduct necessary research and to reference materials according to AMA or equivalent UK formats
Instructional design, teaching or training experience would be an advantage but not a necessity to succeed in this role.
