Are you a highly motivated, dynamic, and organised Medical Secretary looking for a new opportunity?

The team supports a team of consultants who are based in Harrogate.

As Team Leader, you will provide day to day supervision and coordination of a small team, ensuring high standards are consistently achieved.

As Medical Secretary, you will provide comprehensive, confidential secretarial and administrative support in our extremely busy department. You will be a great team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure to set deadlines. As such, you must already be an experienced Medical Secretary.

This is a service that is critical to ensuring high quality patient care.

Main duties of the job
  • Providing secretarial/administration service to the Consultants and medical teams.
  • Leading the team using initiative, experience and leadership skills.
  • Accurately co-ordinating medical information to expedite the continuing care of patients.
  • Taking responsibility for the successful organisation of the Secretarial/PA workload using time management, planning and organising skills.
  • Using initiative and maintaining a high level of confidentiality and diplomacy at all times without immediate access to line supervision.
Person Specification
Qualifications
  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent including English at Grade C or above
  • RSA III Typewriting, word processing or equivalent
  • Knowledge of a range of software programmes, understanding of medical terminology
  • Association of Medical Secretaries Diploma, or equivalent
Experience
  • Recent significant previous hospital, healthcare or NHS experience in a medical secretary role (1 year or more)
  • Excellent word-processing, audio and touch typing skills
  • Experience working in a team
  • Able to/previous experience of leading a team
  • Experience of working in a variety of different medical secretary roles

Salary: £26,530 to £29,114 per annum pro rata
