Senior Engineer - Isleworth - Permanent - April Start Date - 5 days onsite - Specialist Firm
Sustainable Infrastructure's client is a specialist engineering company that supports some of the world’s leading aerospace companies around the globe. They are a leader in jigging tooling, used in the manufacture of aerospace components. We are looking for a Senior Engineer to ensure that designs are delivered on time and in full as well as maintaining the quality and cost model of the product. The role will provide the vital link between customers, sales and operations and oversee a small team of engineers. The office is less than 10 people onsite.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a small team of engineers to design and develop products using Solidworks to an AS9100 standard.
Specifics of the role will include:
Preparation of SOLIDWORKS 3D models, general layout, assembly and detail drawings in line with client’s requirements and design standards
Managing a team to design and develop both new and existing products to AS9100 standard
Interpret customer ideas in conjunction with sales staff and managing the preparation of drawings and 3D models for manufacture, including all dimensions, tolerances, finishes and notes
Manage the delivery of products, drawings and documents on time and in full
Support the operations team both in the office and workshop
Support the supply chain performance (Time, Quality, Cost and Service)
Support the sales team to win opportunities and support customers
Maintain the 100% external quality level
Support the delivery of products and documents on time and in full
Deliver orders within the business cost model
Contribute to and report via month end meetings and KPI’s
Contribute to the company technology roadmap
Provide ad hoc external support (sales meetings, events, meetings, phone)
Support the achievement of operations business targets
Lead by example
Support and contribute to improve all design processes and procedures
Essential Criteria
Minimum 5 years of engineering experience
Proficiency, 2 and 3D CAD, preferably SOLIDWORKS
Proficiency in hand calculations and analysis tools such as FEA
Proficiency in design principles and design, development and product development
Proficiency in project management within engineering
Ability to create and manage engineering drawings and quality documents.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Has a sociable style with drive and dedication.
Have good communication and management skills.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
Ability to get ‘hands dirty’ to meet deliverables
Motivation and a desire to contribute to a dynamic business
Has a full valid driving license
Is able to demonstrate a strong desire to deliver engineering excellence in their career by experiencing and learning new skills and situations.
Ability to make decisions and take responsibility
Desirable Criteria
HND or University degree in a relevant subject
Previous experience of the aerospace industry
Proficiency with quality standards such as AS9100, ISO9001
