Location: Based in Aberdeen or East Kilbride (within a commutable distance), with regular travel across sites and flexibility for home working (please note: this role will require on-site presence across all four sites — East Kilbride, two in Aberdeen, and Keith — for the first three months to ensure a full understanding of operations and team dynamics)

Reports to: Head of Engineering (Board-level)

Hours: Predominantly Monday-Friday, with weekend work as required by business needs

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum, based on experience

Senior Mechanical Engineer Role Summary: The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead and coordinate all engineering activities across multiple Aberdeen Laundry Services sites. This senior role acts as the key point of contact for both the site engineering teams and the engineering administrator. While elements of the role can be carried out from home, it will require regular site presence, strong leadership, and proactive communication to ensure engineering excellence across the business.

Senior Mechanical Engineer Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead, develop, and mentor Engineering Supervisors across all company sites.
2. Act as the main point of contact for all site engineering leads and the engineering administrator.
3. Oversee and standardise the use of the CMMS system across all sites, ensuring accurate data input and reporting.
4. Analyse CMMS data and other engineering reports to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
5. Support and oversee major projects, including equipment installations, upgrades, and site improvements.
6. Liaise closely with the Head of Engineering to align operational activity with strategic business goals.
7. Participate in capex planning, budgeting, and long-term asset management.
8. Provide senior engineering leadership and support during critical incidents, including outside normal working hours if required.
9. Maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and engineering best practices across all locations.

What We're Looking For:

1. Degree-qualified engineer or equivalent professional experience.
2. Strong leadership experience in multi-site engineering management.
3. A clear, confident communicator with the ability to coordinate multiple teams and stakeholders.
4. Expertise in CMMS systems and using data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
5. Strong project management experience and strategic thinking.
6. Experience within industrial laundry, production, or process-based environments is desirable.
7. Ability to work independently with flexibility for both site-based and home-based work.
8. Hands-on mindset, capable of balancing operational support with senior management responsibilities.
