I'm currently partnering with a well-established and growing building services consultancy to find a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical design professional looking to take the next step in their career with a company that values quality, collaboration, and long-term client relationships.

What You'll Be Doing:

1. Leading mechanical design work across multiple projects from concept to completion
2. Designing HVAC, plumbing, and other building services systems to current standards and client specifications
3. Working closely with the electrical team, architects, and project managers to ensure integrated, efficient design
4. Mentoring junior engineers and reviewing their technical output
5. Attending site visits, client meetings, and design reviews as needed
6. Supporting the development of sustainable and energy-efficient design strategies
7. Keeping up-to-date with industry standards and regulations

What They're Looking For:

1. Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (or equivalent experience)
2. Several years' experience in mechanical design within a consultancy or contractor environment
3. Strong working knowledge of UK building regulations, CIBSE guides, and relevant standards
4. Proficiency with design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and industry-specific calculation software
5. Comfortable engaging with clients and leading technical discussions
6. A proactive, solution-focused mindset and a genuine passion for building services design
7. Chartership or working towards it would be a bonus
