ROLE: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

TERM: Permanent

LOCATION: Berkshire

SALARY: £45,000 - £60,000, dependent on experience

My client designs and manufactures robotic products and solutions. They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Berkshire on a permanent basis.

Attributes:

1. A keen interest in Robots/Robotics
2. At least 3 years' experience in a similar Mechanical / Design Engineering position
3. Proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, etc.
4. Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
5. Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
6. Knowledge of a variety of materials - sheet metal, injection moulded plastics, etc.
7. Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
8. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
9. Proficient using MS Office
10. Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
11. Ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team

Responsibilities:

1. Using SolidWorks for concept design and producing technical drawings
2. Liaising with manufacturing providers
3. Being involved in the final assembly of products
4. Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports/plans
5. Updating 3D models and drawings
6. Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
7. Checking drawings for sign off
8. Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
