Senior Manager, Technical Program Management, Fire TV

In this inherently cross-functional role, you will work closely with a high-energy team of software engineers, product managers, marketers, customer service leads as well as many external partners (incl. device manufacturers, brand & retailers).

DESCRIPTION

Fire TV powers a wide range of Smart TVs across the world on many different brands. We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Global Launch TPM to lead new device introductions partnering with global ODM's and OEMs. The Global TPM leader would be the single-threaded leader for 3P launch TPM organization, spanning across 20+ TPMs worldwide including leading other people leaders. They would own the end-to-end launch of 3P programs from definition to planning to launch to post-launch working closely with internal and external partners.

We drive the coordinated effort to launch FireTV programs, with both Amazon internal teams and 3P partners and in this role you will oversee the successful development, launch and sustaining of FireTV programs.

This role is a good fit for someone who is organized, thrives in a dynamic environment, and understands the diverse perspectives of stakeholders to deliver complex programs.

The ideal candidate is passionate about product development, interested in TV & video entertainment domain, with an established track of delivering consumer electronic products.

As FireTV launch team, we manage the lifecycle of the FireTV cross-functional programs, we act as the voice of our programs, being the primary point of contact for the product development and launch, and ensuring the right level of communication up to VP level.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working directly with engineering teams
• Software development experience
• Technical product or program management experience
• Experience managing technical teams
• Demonstrated experience in hiring and developing high-performing teams
• Demonstrated ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes
• Ability to roll up sleeves and operate as an individual contributor to get the job done; at the same time be able to guide the team
• Able to provide architectural guidance and direction throughout project lifecycle.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
• Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
• Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
• Master’s degree in Computer Science/Math or related field
• Deep hands-on technical expertise, prior experience in software development
• Experience in Agile development methodologies, deep understanding of software development in large teams, and a track record of shipping software on time
• Experience managing teams of 20+ people, managing managers
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Consumer device product development, launch especially Smart TV.
