This is a company that shows great respect and a fearless approach to make positive change. Does this feel exciting? Well, this is where you come in.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO

The purpose of this role, Senior Manager of Sustainability Operations, is to lead the integration of sustainability into all business decisions across the global Sustainable Operations organization. You will drive the development of sustainability competence and requirements, embedding them in key roles and strategies to ensure sustainability is elevated on par with cost and quality in every decision we make. You will build additional internal KPIs and reporting mechanisms to track sustainability performance. You will ensure prioritization and support the implementation of actions and projects within key functions to ensure sustainability targets are met.

Here are the main elements of the role:

  • Embed sustainability in key decision-making forums, considering cost and quality.
  • Guide strategy and roadmap development for Sustainable Operations, including factories, co-manufacturing, sourcing, planning, and logistics.
  • Develop sustainability competence and accountability in key roles within Sustainable Operations.
  • Create systems to measure and track progress toward supply-chain sustainability goals.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sustainability Analysis and Reporting for accurate progress measurement and annual reporting.
  • Work with regional teams to integrate global strategies into local operations.
  • Provide technical guidance on sustainability best practices, tools, and technologies.
  • Engage with emerging practices in decarbonization, renewable energy, and sustainable operations.
  • Monitor legislation and trends related to decarbonization and renewable energy.
  • Support Communications and Creative teams in articulating Oatly’s sustainability values.
  • Operate within a Global Sustainability team, fostering cross-functional collaboration.

In this role, you will report into Global Co-lead of Sustainability and VP Sustainability Operations & Supply. The position can be in Malmö, or where we have European offices such as Amsterdam, Berlin, Barcelona, or Paris. Some travel may be required.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO BRING TO THE TABLE

We are looking for you who have:

  • At least 10 years of combined relevant professional experience in sustainability.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Preferred to have a certification in energy management, procurement, engineering, or related field.
  • Technical understanding of sustainable practices in energy, transport, water, and waste (preferably in food and beverage manufacturing).
  • Experience measuring and monitoring environmental metrics (CO2e, energy, water, waste).
  • Experience optimizing manufacturing systems and technical understanding of renewable energy generation.
  • Alignment with Oatly’s sustainability values and commitment to meaningful change in the food and beverage industry.
  • Strong management and leadership skills, strategic mindset, practical approach, strong communicator and decision-maker.
  • Stakeholder management with frequent interaction with senior leaders.

WHO WE NEED YOU TO BE

We think your oatsomeness is built upon the following qualities:

  • You are a passionate advocate for sustainability who strives to create societal shifts and drive the plant-based revolution.
  • You have problem-solving skills essential for identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • You are a self-starter who enjoys building from scratch and implementing sustainable processes, structures, and tools.
  • You are highly collaborative and understand that our success as a company depends on our ability to work together to find innovative solutions.
  • You have a charismatic presence and a knack for steering conversations while diplomatically focusing the room on what matters.
  • You are an entrepreneur at heart, with the know-how to create forward momentum and the stamina to relentlessly drive the process.
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and chaos, energized by the challenge of building something lasting that benefits both the world and its people.

To be the perfect fit for Oatly, we believe you have a thirst for knowledge and are a result-driven person with high integrity. You thrive with a hands-on approach, even in times of rapid change. Your social competence allows you to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

Finally, we hope that you share our values and have a great interest to carry out our mission in order to make the world a little bit better.

YOUR APPLICATION

So please trust your gut and pop in your application if it’s feeling right. If you have the curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit, let’s do this together! It will be fun!

Last day of application: 22nd of April.
