Senior Manager, UK Governance Services

Location: London (Hybrid)

This is a hybrid position primarily based in London. Today's General Counsel, Company Secretaries and legal departments are under mounting pressure to deal with increasing corporate compliance, governance and reporting requirements and as a result are looking for partners who can provide a full suite of governance and company secretarial services.

Our corporate governance professionals support the delivery of UK governance advisory and managed services engagements to our diverse portfolio of clients. In this professional services role, you will work with a fantastic team to deliver a high calibre of work to our Listed clients inc. FTSE 250.

A role you will love

As a Senior Manager for the UK Governance Services' team, you will lead and oversee the day-to-day delivery of managed service and governance advisory engagements focusing on listed companies. This position will be part of the UK Senior Management Team, working collaboratively to build and grow the business as part of Computershare's global Issuer Services strategy for growth.

Within this role you will be integral in the growth of our service offering, building and developing the team and will have a direct impact on the business. Key Responsibilities
  • As a Senior Manager you will work collaboratively to build and grow the business as part of Computershare's global Issuer Services strategy for growth.
  • Lead the delivery of project based and managed service client engagements, advising domestic and international clients on UK listing requirements, statutory compliance, governance, and transaction related matters.
  • Clients will include companies planning to IPO, supporting them through the listing process and ongoing as a listed company.
  • Client work will involve attending Board meetings, supported by junior members of the team, and delivery of listed company compliance.
  • Developing service offerings for managed services and advisory work, including technical knowledge and tools across the team.
  • Manage, monitor, and mentor junior members of the team.
  • Lead business development activities and client service contract negotiations.
  • Establish and maintain client and external network relationships.
  • Support business management and operational matters as and when required, including recruitment, resourcing, finance and risk management recruitment, resourcing, finance, and risk management.
  • As an SME, contribute to a variety of projects and initiatives as and when required - including initiatives to improve margin through process efficiencies and commercial decision making.
  • Keep up to date with both internal and external influences to help shape continuous growth and development of the Governance Services business and offering.

What will you bring to the role?

To be successful in this role we are looking for an experienced Company Secretary preferably with some professional services and listed company experience.

Other Key skills:
  • Extensive subject matter expertise and experience from performing listed company compliance corporate governance and transactional work for UK entities.
  • Expert communication skills and ability to influence/ build effective relationships at all levels with clients and colleagues.
  • Business development and client contract negotiation skills.
  • Proven people leadership and coaching skills.
  • Resilience and ability to take ownership/responsibility for own work and work of others.
  • Excellent business, financial and risk management skills, and the ability to think/act strategically and commercially whilst protecting the reputation of the company.
  • Strong IT skills with experience in the development of technology systems to support service delivery.
  • A relevant Degree, and or Membership of the Corporate Governance Institute (CGI).
