Role Title: Senior Manager Employee Relations / Manager Employee Relations

Location: London, UK

Summary of Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager to build & lead the EMEA Employee Relations (ER) team. The ER Manager will develop a deep understanding of Infosys’s business and will collaborate with HR and Legal functions to review Employee Relations policies/processes and interventions. As an Employee Relations Manager, you will be the point of contact for all Employee Relations matters in the UK such as preventive and corrective actions of behavior/value incidents, disciplinary processes, major employee grievances, and investigations.

Employee Relations practices are key to creating a positive work environment. This strategic position will be responsible for reviewing, formulating, and implementing the Employee Relations function/practices in the UK and major continental European countries. The Employee Relations Manager is a trusted adviser and critical partner to Business leaders, coaching Business partner HRs and leaders on various employee relation matters related to values & ethical matters, grievance resolution, and actions pertaining to performance deficiencies. Proactively review all policy and procedures in line with current legislation. As a subject matter expert, the ER manager/Practice lead ER identifies risks and gaps, creates, audits, and sustains positive workplace relations programs; and designs and conducts positive workplace relations training that drives best practices.

Details of Roles & Responsibility:

  1. Strategic ER Management: Responsible for ER strategy for UK or Europe as the case may be. Provides specialist advice on employee relations requirements and procedures to Business leaders and Senior management.
  2. Review the Employee relations practices/policies involving value violations (disciplinary process), grievance redressal process, performance deficiency process, and suggest changes/improvements.
  3. Drives ER processes including terminations, absence management, performance management, grievances, investigations and creation of required documentation to support those processes in close coordination with Legal teams.
  4. Guide & enable Business partner HR, Business leaders, Manager community on values adherence, employee grievances, and performance deficiencies.
  5. Drive anti-sexual harassment initiatives and coordinate internal investigations in case of any incident.
  6. Work with Labour authorities and other stakeholders for statutory compliances involving Employee relations functions.
  7. Support central teams in case of any whistleblower investigations as needed.
  8. Undertake management development activities by coaching, influencing, and sharing knowledge to increase manager’s abilities to manage their teams.
  9. Stay current on employment law and trends.
  10. Track and interpret trends in employee relations to proactively identify issues and develop training and other interventions and solutions.
  11. Promote the Company’s Culture and policies.

Knowledge & Skills:

  1. Minimum of 8 – 15 years’ experience in HR with exposure to Employee Relations functions.
  2. ER manager will be a subject matter expert of HR areas of Employment law in UK. Knowledge of employment laws of Germany, France, Netherlands, Swiss, NORDICS will be an advantage.
  3. Strong team player who enjoys a fast-paced, evolving international environment and who is proactive, assertive, decisive, and resilient.
  4. A key capability is the ability to understand the global business context and to make practical, risk-based decisions that drive business outcomes based on solid employment law knowledge and experience, process improvement mindset, and key understanding of HR matters.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Experience in dealing with conflict resolution.
  7. Ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment.
  8. Coaching and Influencing skills.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PPT etc.).
