We're recruiting for a Senior Manager - Campaign and Content Marketing to join the team on a fixed term 12 month contract maternity position ideally starting beginning of May 2025.
The purpose of this role is to lead a team of 15 marketers with the overall responsibility of the end-to-end planning, execution and reviewing of both creative and paid media for Asda’s national brand campaigns, as well as the Asda Magazine and editorial recipe content production, and Asda In-Store Radio, including full £multi-million budget responsibility. The ultimate aim being to create best in class campaigns that drive the performance of the business and the brand in line with our Customer KPI’s.

- Be a key member of the Senior Management Team for Asda Marketing, reporting to the Asda Marketing Director. Support on the wider team agenda, including team development and engagement.
- Lead, develop, and manage 5 direct reports – 4 x Campaign Managers, 1 x Asda Magazine and Editorial Content Manager, and with wider responsibility for a team of 15.
- Manage the relationships with the lead creative and media agencies, as well as the publishing and in-store radio agencies – including ensuring outputs are up to standards, scopes of work are up to date and cost efficiencies are identified and negotiated, working alongside the internal procurement teams.
- Play a key role in the annual marketing planning process, working alongside the internal strategy, insight and analytics teams, agency partners and finance teams to get to an aligned annual plan in line with key planning timelines.
- Accountable for the end-to-end process of planning, executing, and reviewing of all campaigns in the annual plan – including making key recommendations to the Marketing Director and VP of Marketing, and being responsible for the agreed level of sign offs for creative and media across TV, AV, Radio, Print, Digital Display.
- Accountable for the approach to campaign pre-testing and post campaign evaluation, including the relationships with agency partners and in house econometrics team, to ensure continuous planning, delivery and improvement of best-in-class campaigns.
- Accountable for the strategy, development, execution, print and distribution of the Asda Magazine, including working with the retail media team to ensure the magazine is self-funded through supplier advertising.
- Overseeing the strategy for Asda In-store Radio – including setting targets with internal retail media teams to generate revenue, aligning this channel with wider campaigns, and innovating with agency to maximise the effectiveness of this channel.
- Working closely with peers in Social, PR, Creative Design, CRM & Performance Media and Asda Studio to ensure full integration and alignment across full paid, owned, earned channel mix.
- Responsibility for multi-million-pound budgets across 4 cost centres – campaign production, Asda national media, Asda Magazine and In-store radio – including the annual budgeting processes, monthly reporting and re-forecasting, and identifying savings and opportunities to support business priorities.
- Extra-curricular accountabilities including supporting the department wide marketing excellence programme ‘The Next Level’, and ad hoc support of business development programmes through running masterclasses.

- Thorough understanding of communications and media planning – including the tools and inputs required to get to optimised plans.

- Experience working with agency partners, successfully managing relationships to get the best out of them, treating them with respect and as an extension of the team.
