Senior Maintenance Engineer

Job Description

Walker Cole International is supporting a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer in the recruitment of a Senior Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering & Maintenance team. This is a permanent role focused on improving equipment performance and supporting reliability across process and utility systems within a GMP-compliant facility.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Act as the Senior Maintenance Engineer for equipment performance, leading troubleshooting and long-term corrective actions.
2. Develop and implement proactive maintenance strategies using reliability-centred and predictive tools.
3. Support continuous improvement initiatives, CAPEX projects, and root cause investigations.
4. Mentor technicians, coordinate external service providers, and ensure documentation compliance.

Requirements:

1. Time-served qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Refrigeration engineering; ideally with further education (e.g. HNC, Degree).
2. Proven maintenance experience within a pharmaceutical or highly regulated manufacturing environment.
3. Strong technical problem-solving skills and a track record of improving equipment reliability.
4. Working knowledge of GMP, SAP/CMMS systems, and maintenance best practices.
