Working across a range of project sectors which include data centres, education, commercial, healthcare and science & technology in and around London and the SE, they have a real focus on critical infrastructure. Their services start from design, through construction and fit out to the maintenance of the projects, effectively offering an end-to-end solution.

The position offers hybrid working with days spent on sites generally in and around central London, with the odd journey to locations such as Slough.

Key M&E Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:

  1. Manage feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labour costs.
  2. Single point of contact to fully understand project's commercial needs, evaluating different options to fulfil them and propose the best solutions in a reasonable, professional way.
  3. Manage cost throughout the project stages through to financial close and during construction.
  4. Assist when required with regards to cost evaluation, procurement and variation advice.
  5. Accurately report and monitor, to ensure accurate monthly forecasting and cost reporting to the Commercial Manager.
  6. Handle procurement of sub-contractor packages and present their selection for approval of said packages by Commercial Manager.
  7. Review all project variations and project claims.
  8. Minimise the cost and enhance value for money for projects, whilst still achieving the required standards and quality.
  9. Monitor all project costs and cashflow including preliminaries through the approval, sign off of orders and the reviewing of invoices applicable to the project.
  10. Prepare monthly client applications for payments and follow through to receipt of client certificate, in line with the works completed on site and cash flow position.
  11. Assess Sub-contractors' application for payments, to ensure a fair valuation in line with the progress on site and with their contracts.

To be considered for this position you will need a qualification in Quantity Surveying and a proven track record ideally on larger scale build projects. Whilst previous data centre/critical infrastructure experience would be an advantage, it is by no means essential with the client open to experience from other UK project sectors.
