Senior Library Assistant Grade 4 (£29,763 - £30,630)

We are looking to recruit for our Outreach Team 36 hours per week – this post will be part of our new outreach team delivering services in community venues.

This post will require a flexible approach to working hours and locations, although it is anticipated most hours will be across the library core hours of 10-6 Monday to Friday and 9-5 Saturday.

Location: The successful candidate will be required to deliver services in community venues across the borough.

About the Role:

From April 2025, Croydon Libraries will be operating a new service model. To deliver this, we are looking for people who have a passion for customer service and for working as part of a team delivering Croydon’s library services directly to our customers. This will include supporting the delivery of activities and events and assisting customers with accessing online information and other resources.

Requirements:

• Customer focused with excellent communication skills
• Interested in libraries and in serving Croydon’s diverse communities
• A good team worker as part of the outreach programme and across all 9 of Croydon’s libraries
• Enthusiastic in your approach to engagement with customers of all ages
• Able to demonstrate an ability to supervise staff
